Prototype 2 is an open-world action-adventure video game and the direct sequel to the original hit game. Set in a devastated New York City plagued by a deadly virus, the story follows a new protagonist, Sergeant James Heller. He is a soldier on a quest for vengeance against the first game's hero, Alex Mercer, whom he blames for the death of his family. Infected with the same virus, Heller gains incredible shapeshifting superpowers. These abilities allow him to transform his limbs into deadly weapons like blades, whips, and claws, while also granting him superhuman agility to run up walls, glide, and leap across buildings. The game features brutal, fast-paced combat and ultimate freedom to destroy enemy forces and military vehicles.

The game relies on two key elements: the first is "Lights," which allow you to progress to new stages and unlock new cars (based on your "Fan Count"). The game is divided into nine groups, with each group set in a city featuring its own unique tracks. After completing all the challenges in a city, you must face a major competitive showdown to conquer that location. There are four types of challenges in each city, as follows: The first is the standard race, where you must finish in the top three. Each finishing position awards a specific number of "Lights." However, you must be wary of your opponents, as they drive very aggressively; I recommend keeping a close eye on what is happening behind you.
